Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe, a mixed race British-Nigerian child, was born to a family in South London. Her father is Nigerian-Swiss and her mother is English. She grew on a South London community estate, and when she was fourteen, she attended The Brit School. She was a student at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London in which she earned an BA in acting. During her time at the academy, she performed in numerous stage productions such as King Henry V playing Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights portraying Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe's acting career started in the series Storm Damage. Since then, she has been a guest star on Teachers, Doctors, Casualty as well as Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's first film appearance was Woody Allen's Cassandra's Dream (2007), alongside Colin Farrell. Her success has led her to be cast in Elisha as a one-off BBC Three drama West 10 LDN pilot, then appear in the six-episode series Trexx & Flipside as Ollie. In 2008, the actress was offered Bambi who was the leading character on ITV2's comedy Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe was also a part of the comedy of 2008 How to Alienate and Lose Friends. Theatre credits for Madekwe include Little Sweet Thing and Flight Path.
Madekwe made her official US debut on the Drama series The Beautiful Life, which only aired two episodes in the US on The CW before being cancelled. Ashley Davenport, a character from ABC's Revenge drama series, was cast for her as Ashley Davenport. Madekwe's departure from the series was announced in May 2013. After two years as a main character, she was a guest in the opening episode of season three. In 2014 and 2016, she starred in the role of Tituba in the TV series Salem. Madekwe, along with her boyfriend of many years, Iddo Goldenberg, were married in June 2012. In addition to Secret Diary of a Call Girl they have also worked together on Salem and Iddo Goldberg had a part alongside her in the show on TV.
Ashley Leggat, a twice Gemini nominated actress was born into a huge family in Hamilton, Ontario. She joined her parents, Roy and Patty and four older brothers, Rob, Brett, and twins Todd and Bram. Ashley grew in arenas or baseball parks since her four athletic brothers all played baseball, hockey, and basketball in spring and summer. Ashley did not walk; instead, she was a dancer. When she was two and half she discovered Baby Ballet. Ashley discovered her love for dance at this age. Ashley was a dancer who competed across all major categories until the time she graduated from high school. She competed in jazz, tap, ballet as well as pointe and acrobatics. Additionally, she was awarded top soloists awards in all important dance competitions such as International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance and many more.
